Wij zijn, uitzonderingen daar gelaten, ver van de Curacaoenaar 3.0. Wat ik de laatste dagen om mij heen zie is: haat, fustratie, hebberigheid, etc. Het leidt tot verbaal geweld en (auto)distructief gedrag. Zijn we zelfs achteruitgegaan: er wordt minder gezongen en gedanst. Er wordt minder geschreven en gelezen. Er wordt minder gesport. Er wordt minder gedroomd.
Hoe is het zo gekomen? We hebben een onverwerkt verleden: slavernij, kolonialisme, noem maar op. We zitten midden in een verwerkingsproces. Populisten hebben misbruik gemaakt van ons gevoel van onbehagen en hebben dag in dag uit zitten stoken. Alle negativiteit is los gekomen.
We hebben niet het leiderschap om ons op een hoger niveau te tillen. En toch zijn de vooruitzichten nog positief. Het kan nog. We moeten ons realiseren dat het meer om de toekomst gaat dan om het verleden.
Het is tijd voor een goed gesprek. Een gesprek om zaken op een rijtje te zetten en om weer te focussen. Het gesprek 3.0.
