In the beginning of 2013 the government of Suriname that has signed a contract with the companies Iamgold and Newmont. The government started a joined venture to win gold. The possible earnings are enormous. Suriname will not have the majority of the shares. This exploration will be at the expense of the indigenous population and the forest. Gold is not green
